In most cases, a childhood is sacred and riddled with memories and figures that resonate through a lifetime. Ernie is one of those beloved figures. But he bares a different meaning for me. He takes on the attributes of environment I grew up in. He keeps his lovable charm, but he is in the hue of blue, maybe sorrow, and depicts an inebriated state, maybe the onset of a drug. I won’t spiel about my childhood, just receive this piece as you will.
